What is Krokodil?
Desomorphine or the street name "Krokodil" (former brand name Permonid), is a is a synthetic drug and a derivative of morphine with powerful, fast-acting opioid effects, such as sedation and analgesia. This drug is eight to ten times more potent then morphine but causes less nausea and respiratory depression. This drug causes bone, muscle and basically anything in your body to rot. Krokodil is up to ten times stronger than heroin but only one-tenth of the price. It is illigal and home-cooked. This drug is a cheap alternative to heroin but most frequent users will die from it within two years due to pain medacations to relieve pain caused by the drug and toxins. Desomorphine is normally home made and can be made from a combination of codeine-based tablets, paint thinner, lighter fluid, gasoline, hydrochloric acid, red phosphorous (scraped from matchboxes) and iodine. The result of the cooking of pain tablets and chemicals is a toxic and highly addictive drug. Looking at this drug it makes me feel sick.
